The Greatest Sacrifice Foundation is a foundation whose mission is to come to the aid of children who have tragically lost a parent or parents to tragic illness or accident. The Greatest Sacrifice aims to offer a 2nd chance and a new beginning for children whose future and access to education was cut short by the tragic loss of a parent or guardian.
The Greatest Sacrifice Foundation was formed in 2008 to provide assistance through bereavement counseling, prescripted therapies and financial assistance to rescue children and to promote healing in the wake of unforeseen tragedy.
This Foundation is dedicated to the memory of a patient of the founder whose untimely death left behind three young children including her newborn baby. The devastation to her surviving family cannot be adequately described with words.
The aim of The Greatest Sacrifice is to ease the pain and suffering of children in similar situations by assisting them with grief counseling, peer groups, and camps, and to guide them through their emotional journey with assistance as needed. In addition, many children who have lost a parent or parents may have lost the opportunity to continue educational and enrichment activities. The Greatest Sacrifice aims to establish an endowment through grants and donations to enable children to continue with the education that they deserve.
Initially, The Greatest Sacrifice intends to focus its efforts on serving members of the greater Washington DC community including Montgomery County, MD. The Foundation’s vision is to open and operate a bereavement center in Montgomery County and establish a scholarship program to assist qualified children and their families. Scholarship funds will provide children with pre-school, after school and post-secondary educational assistance.
